The Story of Upper Room
Started by imperfect people in pursuit of a perfect God.
It began in 2017. Eric Corson had a dream where he was walking along Highway 52 in Preston, Minnesota.
He was walking east of the present location of Upper Room. As he approached the abandoned Standard station, he noticed the garage door was open. As he got closer, he heard music coming from inside the garage bay, and he walked toward the source of the music. Facing out of the bay door was a woman with shorter, blondish hair playing an acoustic guitar and singing Christian worship songs in an emotional manner. Her eyes were closed, and she was bending over backwards in what appeared to be an impossible pose. Eric glanced up, and there to his right he saw the large cross on the Lutheran Church 100 yards away.
In that moment, Eric was suddenly standing on the highest hill on the north rim of the Preston valley looking down into town. Below him, he could see the highway winding along the bottom of the valley. Directly across the valley from him he saw the same Standard station. Glancing down at his feet, he saw that he was standing on the top step of a long staircase going directly down the hillside to the bottom of the valley and back to the old Standard station.

A few years later, Eric had another dream where he was walking with somebody he knew, but he never actually saw the person in the dream. They were walking side by side on the bike trail behind the Fillmore County Fairgrounds. They were walking toward Preston and the trailhead. Glancing to his right up the bluff, Eric was immediately aware of the entire valley having recently been flooded by a raging torrent of water. He saw mud and broken branches and debris high up in the trees, all the way to the top of the bluffs. It was clear the flood had filled the valley all the way to the top. The person with Eric in the dream stated the flood had come from down river.
In an instant they were walking west on Fillmore Street toward the heart of downtown Preston. As they walked within a block of the Courthouse, Eric saw the flood water had still surrounded the Courthouse square, right up to the edge of the Courthouse parking lot, though it had receded everywhere else. Filling the Courthouse parking lot were many twisted-looking, nocturnal creatures that had been flushed out of underground hiding spots and into the sunshine by the flood. The creatures were trapped right outside of the main Courthouse doors, and the creatures knew it. They were scurrying around in a panic, seeking to escape. It was clear they knew judgment had come, and the dark places that had hid them for so long had been utterly destroyed. This was a sign to Eric that a change was coming to Preston, and
Upper Room worship ministry was meant to be part of this change..
Upper Room is part of a powerful move of the Holy Spirit in Preston, MN, and an awakening for surrounding communities.
Eric and the other board members of Upper Room have been approached by lots people (many of whom do not live in Preston) who also believe that God is about to do something big in this city.
May Upper Room be a place where God can do whatever He wants to do. The goal is for His will to be done on earth as it is in Heaven; in Preston, in Fillmore County, in Minnesota, in the United States, in North America, and in the lives of each person who joins in seeking the Father..

I have lived in Preston my entire life where I was raised and confirmed in the Lutheran Church, slid into agnosticism in my teens, and rediscovered a passion for God in my early twenties after a series of incredible “God encounters”. Since then, my wife Tara and I have lead worship in an array of churches, and our kids have followed in our musical footsteps.
When I am not at Upper Room or hosting “The Power Source” livestream show, I practice as an attorney at Corson Law Offices, LLC, volunteer as a board member for the Veterans and Emergency Services Museum, day trade stocks, and renovate houses. For entertainment, I enjoy military history, comedy, live music (obviously), traveling, and documentaries. For outdoor activities, fishing, deer hunting, biking, camping, and skiing top my list. I am also a foodie and have traveled places just to visit restaurants that appeared on TV food shows.
FUN FACTS:
1) I was a contestant on “The Price is Right” when I was 20
2) I sang the background music for the Veggie Tales movie “Larry Boy and the Rumor Weed” with my college men’s choir
3) The first concert I ever attended was a Weird Al Yankovic concert when I was 13, and 25 years later I took my kids to their first concert- Weird Al Yankovic, where we got to meet him afterwards.

I grew up on a farm outside of Rushford as a pastor's daughter. As a result, I've been immersed in worship and ministry my whole life and have been participating in worship since age 13. Music runs deep in our family- all of our children play piano, and our oldest two sons also excel on the drums.
In my leisure time, I find joy in the outdoors— hiking, biking traveling, or tending to my garden. For the two decades prior to establishing Upper Room, I was a lead pre-school teacher. Now I have moved into freelance Bridal Style, partnering with my cousin for on-site bridal styling. This new side gig leaves me plenty of time for Upper Room ministry.
FUN FACTS:
1) I won Miss Congeniality during the Rushford Days pageant when I was 19, and that was the first time I ever sang a solo in front of people
2) We have hosted 5 different foreign exchange students in our house from 4 different countries
3) I grew up riding in an Amish buggy on the farm…but I am not Amish
